Start with the neckline
The easiest way to change a men’s knitwear outfit is to change its neckline. A zip cardigan opens up a relaxed base. A polo knit adds the structure of a collar. A roll-neck gives you a clean line beneath a jacket. Rather than treating them as interchangeable jumpers, give each one a place in your week and build the trousers and shoes around that shape.
The cardigan: relaxed, with a little structure
Wear the Afane Knitted Zipper Cardigan open over a plain white or cream T-shirt. Add straight jeans or tailored trousers and keep the T-shirt hem close to the cardigan hem. Too many different lengths can make an otherwise simple look feel busy. For a casual day, sneakers finish the formula; for a lunch or a relaxed office, switch to understated loafers.

The polo knit: an easy weekday outfit
The Agasta Men's Polo Sweater - Soft Fine Knit Long Sleeve Sweater for Autumn & brings a collar to a knitwear look without needing a shirt underneath. Pair it with chinos and tidy shoes, then add a short jacket when you need another layer. Leave the collar sitting naturally rather than flattening it under the jacket. A lighter knit with darker trousers creates contrast while keeping the outfit easy to repeat.
The roll-neck: a quieter evening option
Try the Agata Men's Slim Fit Turtleneck Sweater - Elegant Fine Knit for Business & beneath a simple jacket with straight trousers. Keep the colours close for a calm, coordinated look, or use a light knit against a dark outer layer. There is no need to add a second collar or a statement accessory: the uninterrupted neckline already gives the outfit its character.
Make room for the knit
Check the fit with your arms relaxed and when you reach forward. Knitwear should sit comfortably at the shoulders without pulling across the chest. A thicker cardigan often needs more space under outerwear than a fine roll-neck. Follow the garment’s care instructions, and let the actual fabric and fit guide the way you layer it rather than assuming every knit behaves the same.
